Carlisle entered last night's game with a ton of implications. A win would keep the Indians in a potential share of the SWBL Buckeye Division crown. A win could also seal their fate in making it to the playoffs in the Division IV, Region 16 playoffs for the first time since 2004.
So all our Carlisle Indians did was make a HUGE statement that they deserved both. Our Carlisle Indians hosted the Dixie Greyhounds of New Lebanon, Ohio and beat them 41-12.
The Ground Attack of Nick "The Real Deal" McGill and Jordan "Juke Ya" Jacobs combined for 185 yards rushing and four touchdowns. McGill accounting for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Jake "Gibby" Gibson rushed for a 27 yard touchdown and completed 7-15 passing for 107 yards and a touchdown.
The Defense was awesome again today, holding the Dixie offense down all night and forcing key turnovers. The most important turnover coming as Dixie had a 10 play drive to start the second half before coughing the ball up to the Indians. The very next play McGill took in a romp for a touchdown to create separation in the score box.
Carlisle ended the season with a (8-2, 5-1) record. Monroe Hornets won last night over Northridge and Waynesville Spartans had not trouble with the Madison Mohawks. That leaves all three teams as Tri-Champs of the SWBL.
This week will post the regular season stats and season leaders. Stay tuned!!
