Carlisle dominated North College Hill coming out of the locker room at halftime. North College Hill was up 13-7 at half and Coach Jewell rallied the troops and the troops responded. Our
Carlisle Indians took over the second half on to their first ever
playoff win in school history by winning 21-13 in the Division 4 Regional Quarterfinals.
In the first half, North College Hill raced out to a 7-0 lead by a 86 yard run. Then on the next series Jordan "Juke Ya" Jacobs returned the favor and hit a hole and sped through the secondary for a 80 yard run score. Kris Garrett followed it up with an
extra point tying the score 7-7.
The Carlisle took a massive running attack into the game with Nick "The Real Deal"
McGill and his 1250 yards
rushing on the season against NCH. And that is what powered the game. McGill and Jacobs combined for 275 yards on the ground.
The third quarter wasn't much of anything both teams defenses holding each other down and not allowing one another to score. But in the fourth, Carlisle had enough and from their own 45 yard line marched down the field in 9 plays where Jake "Gibby" Gibson pounded the ball in on a
quarterback keeper. Indians up 14-13.
The Indians defense then took control and forced NCH to punt and Carlisle drove the ball down from their own 40 in 12 plays and Nick McGill then took it in from the one. Kris Garrett added both extra points and giving Carlisle some breathing room.
The Defense then continued to shutout NCH sealing the 21-13 victory!!
And at this point in time it is a PERFECT time to mention Thomas Cooper, Tyler Jewell, Dylan Parsons, Joe Downey, and Seth Everhart. These guys are the Offensive Line that has been the wall for our great backs this year!! Going into the season I remember many talking about the fact that Carlisle will do well because #1 Our Defense and #2 Our Offensive Line. Two unmoveable forces for the Indians this year has made an exciting season!!
Carlisle advances to face a HUGE foe in defending state Champion Alter, the top seed in Division 4, in the Regional Semifinals next Saturday, November 14 at Monroe High School.
Ticket and more information will be available later this week.
