The Lady Indians softball team put on a clinic last night in Monroe defeating the Hornets 5-0. Stefaney Turner pitched a complete game shutout almost notching a no hit game. Turner gave up only one run and had 7 strikeouts. Abby Hamilton led the team in hitting by going 3-4 with one RBI and Elizabeth McKinney had two hits in the game. The win moves the Lady Indians to 9-3 in the SWBL and 12-9 overall! Here is a clip and quote from Coach Ridinger from the Middletown Journal:
Carlisle pinch-hitter Carolanne Pearson doubled to left field to start the rally. She scored when pinch-hitter Chelsea Boyer singled up the middle. Boyer came around to score on a double by Stephanie Reed, and then Abby Hamilton plated Reed with the final run for the Indians (12-9, 9-3 SWBL Buckeye).
“We preach all the time that if you do your job, we’ll win games,” Carlisle coach Don Ridinger said. “We’ve got to play with purpose, focus and intensity. I thought we did that today. We played very well.”
