Carlisle Girls Hoops Dominate Temple Christian

Last night, the Carlisle Indians Varsity Girls Basketball Program kept their great season going by romping Temple Christian 55-21. The Lady Indians jumped out to a 18-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Alexis Murphy led the Indians with 10 points, Morgan Thomas had 9 points and Ally Campbell added 7.
The Lady Indians move to 6-2 on the season and will play Franklin on December 30th.

The Carlisle Boys Basketball program suffered a tough loss to the small private school Temple Christian. The Indians lost the game 53-63 last night. Josh Koogle, who is up for Player of the Week with the Middletown Journal, scored 21 points to pace the Indians. The Varsity Boys fall to 2-4 on the season.

Carlisle Boys Hoops Week in Review....

Last week, the Carlisle Boys Varsity Basketball program had a stout three game week. First, on December 15th they traveled to SWBL foe Northridge to take on the Polar Bears. The Indians lost 82-61 to a strong Northridge team. Adam Emrick paced the Indians with 23 points and Jordan Jacobs added 13 and Josh Koogle added 7.
Next, they traveled to the winless Monroe Hornets on Friday night, December 18th and topped them with a victory 68-54. Jumping out to a 20-9 First Quarter paced the Indians in this win. Adam Emrick led the Indians in scoring again with 20 points, T.C. Cooper and Jordan Jacobs added 16, and Josh Koogle had 11.
To wrap things up for the week it was Indians vs. Indians on Saturday night. The Newton Indians vs. Carlisle Indians. Carlisle took a 38-30 half time lead but Newton scratched their way back into the game in the third quarter by outscoring Carlisle 24-9. And with Carlisle winning the fourth quarter it was not enough as Newton defeated the Indians by 1, 65-66. Newton held Emrick to only 4 points...and Josh Koogle's game high 28 points and Jordan Jacobs 13 was not enough at the end.
Carlisle is 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the SWBL on the season and look to even their record up this Tuesday against Temple Christian.

Lady Indians lose tough game to Waynesville Spartans

The Lady Indians took a 3-0 record into last night's game with the Waynesville Spartans...but the 1-2 Spartans came in and stole the win. The Indians who struggled out of the gate went down 16-4 in the first quarter and could not recover. The Lady Indians got close in the third quarter by heading into the fourth only down 3, 27-30; but Waynesville outscored the Indians 9-13 in the fourth to take a 43-36 win.
The Indians were led by Alexis Murphy and her 11 points, Abby Hamilton and Donna Holbrook added 8 points and Stephanie Reed added 6.
The Indians will play Dayton Northridge Polar Bears on Saturday before two big games against Lemon-Monroe Hornets and Middletown Madison Mohawks next week.

Carlisle Girls Hoops off to fast start.....

The Carlisle Girls hoops program is off to a fast start this season with a 3-0 record heading into tonight's SWBL showdown with the Waynesville Spartans. Carlisle won it's opener against Twin Valley South 66-48. They then went on to have two lopsided wins against Dixie Greyhounds 62-29 and Middletown Christian Eagles 37-18.
The Lady Indians will get their first true test tonight against the Waynesville Spartans.

Carlisle High School Indians Basketball program took down the visiting Middletown Christian Eagles to win their home opener 66-52.
Adam Emrick led all scorers on the night with 27 points, and Josh Koogle added 13 to pace the Indians small lineup to victory.

Carlisle Grudge Match after four year reign...

Carlisle High School Indians Wrestling program lost to the Franklin Wildcats 36-32 in the annual River Cup Grudge. Carlisle had dominated Franklin for four straight years before Franklin took victory last night at home.

Carlisle High School Varsity Girls Basektball kicked off their season with a 66-48 win over Twin Valley South. Carlisle is returning 6 players from last year's squad and looks to use that experience and depth with a successful 2009-2010 season!
Donna Holbrook led the Indians with 20 points in the win. Stefaney Turner added 12, Alexis Murphy 11, and Stephanie Reed had 10 for the Lady Indians!
